Terms of Service
By booking online with Fence Company of Columbus, you agree to comply with and be bound by the following terms & conditions of service.
1. Booking, Confirmation, and Appointment Details
1.1 Service Request
When you request our fencing services, you are agreeing to the terms and conditions specified herein.
1.2 Confirmation
Booking a service does not guarantee an immediate spot. You will receive confirmation via email, phone call, or text once your appointment is finalized in our system.
1.3 Appointment Arrival Window
Fencing service appointments are scheduled for a certain window of time; however, specific start times are not guaranteed due to the nature of our business. We generally aim to arrive no later than 30 minutes after the window’s start time, allowing a reasonable one-hour window from the scheduled start time. While we strive to adhere to the schedule, slight delays might occur due to unforeseen circumstances. If we are running behind schedule, we will always reach out by phone or text.
2. Right to Refuse Service
We reserve the right to deny or terminate service in the event of:
- Inappropriate conduct by the client or anyone on the property
- Inaccessible or disconnected necessary utilities (e.g., electricity) when required for our work
- Safety concerns or dangerous conditions on-site (e.g., exposed live wires, hazardous materials)
- Excessively cluttered or hazardous areas that prevent us from safely completing the job
If our crew deems the site unsafe or otherwise unsuitable for work upon arrival, they may refuse service on the spot, and a cancellation fee will apply as described below.
3. Safety and Service Limitations
To ensure safe working conditions and clear expectations for our fencing crew:
- We do not handle removal of hazardous materials such as asbestos, mold, or bodily fluids.
- Our technicians are not required to lift or transport heavy items unrelated to fence installation/repair (e.g., large debris, furniture). If heavy objects obstruct the fencing area, please arrange for them to be moved prior to our arrival.
- We do not climb beyond safe heights or perform roofing work.
- We do not offer hoarding cleanup or any similarly specialized services.
4. Rescheduling and Cancellation Policy
4.1 Notice Period
A minimum of 24 hours’ notice is required for cancellations or rescheduling to avoid a fee.
4.2 Fees
Cancellations made within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment are subject to a $50 cancellation fee.
Rescheduled appointments within 24 hours of the scheduled appointment are subject to a $25 rescheduling fee.
5. Payment and Pricing
5.1 Payment Timing and Methods
Payment is due on the day the fencing service is completed, unless otherwise agreed upon in writing. Accepted methods of payment include e-transfer, check, or credit card.
5.2 Service Fees
We provide instant or preliminary quotes based on the information you provide when booking. However, actual pricing may be adjusted if the condition of your property or the scope of work differs significantly from what was represented at the time of booking. If adjustments are needed, we will contact you to discuss them.
- We reserve the right to re-evaluate and update service fees at any time.
- If we cannot establish contact within 60 minutes of the scheduled start of the appointment window to discuss adjustments or schedule changes, the applicable cancellation ($50) or rescheduling ($25) fee will be charged.
5.3 Refunds and Remedial Work
If you are dissatisfied with our fencing service, please contact us within 24 hours of job completion. We will address your concerns promptly and work toward a mutually satisfactory solution, which may include a partial refund or additional repair work as needed.
5.4 Rate Increases
If you have an ongoing service contract with us (e.g., for periodic fence maintenance), your rate may be adjusted based on changes in service frequency, property conditions, or other factors. An annual rate increase of up to 5% may apply to recurring services.
6. Customer Responsibilities
6.1 Access to Property
Please ensure our fencing team has access to the work area at the scheduled time. If the site is locked or otherwise inaccessible, every effort will be made to contact you. Failure to grant access within 60 minutes of the scheduled arrival time will result in a $50 late cancellation fee.
If you have a security system, please provide any necessary codes or instructions for use during the service.
6.2 Site Preparation
We request that you remove any obstacles, debris, or personal items near the fence line so our team can work safely and efficiently. If you need assistance with clearing the area, please discuss this with us in advance, as additional fees may apply.
6.3 Equipment and Materials
Fence Company of Columbus provides the necessary tools, equipment, and materials for standard fence installation and repair. If you have specific product requests or materials you wish to supply, please notify us in advance to ensure proper coordination.
6.4 Pets
We work around pets, but clients are responsible for ensuring their pets are secured or restrained to prevent interference with our work. Aggressive pets or unsafe animal conditions may lead to immediate service refusal.
7. Breakage, Damage, and Loss Policy
While rare, breakage or damage may occur in the course of fence installation or repair. We carry insurance for damage or breakage caused directly by our crew.
- Please report any damage or breakage noticed within 24 hours of completion of our service. We cannot be held responsible for claims made after this period.
- We are not liable for damage to items that are inherently fragile, valuable, irreplaceable, or improperly secured (e.g., artwork, antiques, fixtures not installed to code).
- We are not responsible for damage resulting from pre-existing wear and tear, improper property installation, or poor craftsmanship unrelated to our work.
8. Governing Law
These terms and conditions are governed by the laws of the state of Ohio, without regard to conflict of law principles.
By booking our services, you acknowledge that you have read, understood, and agree to abide by these Terms and Conditions of Service.
